Holy Trinity Food Pantry
The Food Pantry receives most of its food from the RI Food Bank. The Food Bank does not charge us for food items, only paper products such as toilet paper and paper
towels. However, the Food Bank often doesn’t have certain staple items. Right now they do not have cereal so consequently, we don’t have cereal, except when donated by parishioners. Cereal is an important item, especially for families. If you can pick up an extra
box of cereal when you go shopping and donate it to the Food Pantry, it would be greatly appreciated.
Lenten Challenge
The Holy Trinity Food Pantry is again offering a Lenten Challenge to help stock our shelves with hard to get items.
If you are looking for a charitable activity to do during Lent, you can donate 1 of the following items each weekend of Lent when you come to Mass:
Week 1: A baking item (cake mix, brownie mix, frosting, or pie filling.etc.)
Week 2: A feminine hygiene product.
Week 3: A paper product: paper towels, napkins, kleenex or a roll of toilet paper.
Week 4: Easter Dinner item: small canned Ham (“non-refrigeration required” necessary) sliced pineapple, canned yams or sweet potatoes or package of mashed potatoes.
Week 5: A personal care product: shampoo, body wash, shaving cream, hand soap, deodorant, or toothpaste.
Week 6: A cleaning product: dish detergent, laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, etc.
Just leave your item at one of the Church Entrances when you come to Mass. All of these items are extras for many residents who are living on low or fixed incomes. Thanks for your generosity, it is greatly appreciated.
December 2024 Food Pantry News
  • As we give thanks for all of our blessings this year, The Food Pantry would like to thank all parishioners who faithfully donate food and money to the Pantry and to the annual Thanksgiving Basket project which this year was 37 baskets. Our Parish is fortunate to have such generous parishioners who donate consistently to this ministry.
  • We could not operate the Food Pantry without our dedicated volunteers. A big thank you to this past years’ Tuesday and Thursday crews: Joyce Baptista, Nancy Benoit, Helen Blais, Charles Blanchette, Debbie Chamberland, Sue Farina, Terry Glaude, Cathy Heath, Roland Houle, Diane Labrecque, Muriel Newton, Beth Plante and Sue Rennie
  • Thank You to our shoppers John Heroux assisted by Arthur Lambert,  Marc Lebrun and Mike Richardson, who pick up 800-1000 pounds of food from the RI Food Bank each week and then restock our shelves.
First Sunday of each month is our pantry Sunday.

Please donate canned foods that will help those who reach out to us for assistance.  Leave donated goods in bags at the church entrances.  THANK YOU!
Holy Trinity Food Pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 to 2:30.
Food Pantry is located at the former Msgr. Gadoury school library. Enter by the door at the far end of the Parish Center.

The Food Pantry provides food and nutritional assistance to people in the Woonsocket and North Smithfield communities.  The food is provided by members of Holy Trinity .
